We sold our house!

And really, aside from having to wear a mask while looking at homes, selling a house during a pandemic wasn’t really that different to selling a house at any other time.

Sure – there were limits on how many people could be in a house at a time, and people seemed a bit more eager to have you sanitize your hands and leave your shoes outside – but overall, the process was pretty unchanged from other times I’ve gone through this.

I think we were fortunate to be both selling and looking to buy homes in two of the most popular areas of our city, so the whole process was relatively quick. We viewed less than 10 properties before we found our dream house, and from start to finish, our home was only on the market for 5 days.

All-in-all, I have no complaints about the process, and really wasn’t hindered at all by any COVID-related rules. Had we been in a position where we needed to have an Open House, or if we really couldn’t win a bid we put on a home (which is extremely common around here), I think I would have been a bit more frustrated.

We’ll see what happens when we actually go to move. Fortunately we were smart and able to hire movers who are considered an essential service, and can move no matter what the state of restrictions are around here. I don’t anticipate any issues, but as we’ve all learned lately, nothing is ever certain in 2020.
